How to Get YouTube Data API, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and Instagram API Access

1. YouTube Data API v3 (Google Cloud Console)

The YouTube Data API allows SmartCity Growth to syndicate video scripts, community announcements, video descriptions, and Shorts metadata.

Step 1.1: Create a Google Cloud Project

1. Navigate to the Google Cloud Console.
2. Click the project dropdown in the top navigation bar and click New Project.
3. Name the project (e.g. SmartCity-YouTube-Integration) and click Create.

Step 1.2: Enable YouTube Data API v3

1. In the left sidebar menu, go to APIs & Services → Library.
2. Search for YouTube Data API v3.
3. Click on the result and click the blue Enable button.

Step 1.3: Configure OAuth Consent Screen & Credentials

1. In the left sidebar, click OAuth consent screen.
2. Select External and click Create.
3. Provide an App Name (e.g. SmartCity Growth YouTube Publisher) and your support email.
4. Under Scopes, add https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.upload and https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly.
5. Next, go to Credentials → Click Create Credentials → Select OAuth 2.0 Client ID.
6. Application type: Choose Web application.
7. Under Authorized redirect URIs, add: https://grow.infusionics.com/auth/youtube/callback.
8. Click Create and copy your Client ID and Client Secret.

Step 1.4: Find Your YouTube Channel ID

Go to YouTube Studio → Customization → Basic Info → Scroll to Channel URL / Channel ID (starts with UC...).

2. LinkedIn Developer Portal (Company Pages)

Connect your verified LinkedIn Company Page to syndicate thought leadership articles and industry news to professional B2B audiences.

Step 2.1: Create a LinkedIn Developer App

1. Visit the LinkedIn Developer Portal.
2. Click the Create App button.
3. Enter your App name, upload your company logo, and select your official LinkedIn Page.
4. Agree to the terms and click Create app.

Step 2.2: Add Required Products

1. Click on the Products tab.
2. Locate Share on LinkedIn and click Request access.
3. Locate Sign In with LinkedIn using OpenID Connect and click Request access.
4. This grants the necessary scopes: w_member_social and w_organization_social.

Step 2.3: Retrieve Client ID, Secret & Organization ID

1. Click on the Auth tab.
2. Copy your Client ID and Primary Client Secret.
3. Under OAuth 2.0 settings, add the redirect URI: https://grow.infusionics.com/auth/linkedin/callback.
4. Your Organization URN (Company ID) is the numeric string at the end of your LinkedIn Admin Page URL (e.g. https://www.linkedin.com/company/12345678/admin/ → ID is 12345678).

3. X (Twitter) Developer Portal

Auto-publish punchy, 280-character summaries with hashtags and backlinks whenever fresh content is indexed.

Step 3.1: Access Developer Portal

1. Navigate to developer.x.com (or developer.twitter.com).
2. Sign up or log in with your brand's X account.
3. Under the Developer Portal Dashboard, click Create Project and assign an App.

Step 3.2: Enable Read and Write Permissions

1. Inside your App settings, scroll to User authentication settings → Click Set up.
2. App permissions: Select Read and Write.
3. Type of App: Choose Web App, Automated App or Bot.
4. Callback URI: Enter https://grow.infusionics.com.
5. Website URL: Enter your primary website address.
6. Click Save.

Step 3.3: Generate Keys & Tokens

1. Navigate to the Keys and Tokens tab.
2. Under Consumer Keys, click Generate → Copy the API Key and API Key Secret.
3. Under Authentication Tokens, click Generate next to Access Token and Secret.
4. Verify that the generated token displays "Created with Read and Write permissions".
5. Copy both the Access Token and Access Token Secret.

4. Instagram Business / Creator API

Instagram auto-posting is powered via the Meta Graph API bridge connected through your Facebook Page.

Step 4.1: Switch Instagram Account to Professional

1. Open the Instagram app on your mobile device.
2. Go to your profile → Settings & Privacy → Account type and tools.
3. Select Switch to Professional Account (choose either Business or Creator).

Step 4.2: Link Instagram to Your Facebook Page

1. Go to your Facebook Page on desktop.
2. Click Settings → Linked Accounts → Instagram.
3. Click Connect Account and log in with your Instagram credentials to establish the bridge.

Step 4.3: Zero Extra Configuration Needed in SmartCity Growth!

Because SmartCity Growth utilizes the Meta Graph API, entering the permanent Facebook Page Access Token (from Guide #2) allows our platform to automatically detect and query your linked Instagram Business account ID via:

GET /{facebook-page-id}?fields=instagram_business_account

No separate Instagram tokens are required! Your featured images and promotional captions will sync directly to your Instagram grid.
